We’re honored to have customers who turn to Aquarius Water Conditioning, and many of them ask us, “How do I test my tap water for contaminants in Minnesota.” There are, of course, ways you can do this yourself, but why not make it easy and ask one of our experts to test your water for you? We’ll not only do it for free, but we’ll also show you how to address any issues that may exist. Our Kinetico water filtration products line can eliminate those problems for good, giving you clean, fresh water at any time of the day or night.
DIY Water Testing
If you prefer to do the job yourself, make sure you’re ready to put in quite a bit of time, effort, and money.
If you’re on a municipal water supply, you should receive a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) or something similar each year. Contact your local water supplier if you didn’t receive one, or get in touch with your landlord if you rent your home. You can also go to the Environmental Protection Agency website to find an online report if your water system serves 100,000+ people.
The report will show you if there are any contaminants present that are above governmental limits and what the potential health risks may be. You’ll also learn what the supplier is doing to fix the issue and what you can do in the meantime.
However, this report is just a snapshot of what’s happening. Your water might have been acceptable when the report was issued, but now it smells or tastes different. If you get your water from a private well, you won’t get a CCR at all. So, what can you do?
You could find a DIY testing kit online or at your local hardware store, but the accuracy of those kits is often questionable at best. Or, you could send a sample of your tap water to a certified lab for testing. This could run you as much as $150.
Why go to all of that expense? Why go through the research needed to determine whether or not your water is contaminated? Why spend the money on a testing kit that might not even work? Just get in touch with the professionals at Aquarius Water Conditioning. We’ll perform a thorough test for you and let you know what’s going on and how to fix whatever issues might exist.
