The Hard Water v. Soft Water Showdown

You may be thinking, “how can water be hard if it’s liquefied?” Confusing isn’t it? At first glance, maybe, but that’s why we’re here to set the record straight. Not all tap water is created equal, and in this hard v. soft water showdown, only one water type can reign supreme!

What is Hard Water?

While it may not physically feel hard to the touch, it’s properties and makeup are what gives this type of water its name. At first, you may not notice a thing — until you begin showering regularly, washing your laundry and cleaning the dishes. Hard water contains hard minerals, or hardness crystals, that can dry out your hair and skin, cause your soft towels to fall flat and become scratchy, and even latch onto your dishes causing water spots. It can also cause calcium and limestone buildups on your fixtures and within your plumbing, leading to clogs and low water pressure.

How Can I Soften My Water?

While soft water can occur naturally, most times in order to achieve mineral-free water, you’ll need to invest in a good water softener. The water itself can sometimes be salty to the taste, as the more effective water softening systems use salt to remove the hard minerals from the water before it enters your home. While the taste is usually a non-issue, many folks choose to install a water filtration system in tandem with their water softener, for best results. Soft water means softer skin and hair, a longer lifetime for water using appliances, softer linens and less plumbing problems down the line. It also makes cleaning a breeze — say goodbye to hard water stains and rust rings around the tub!

It’s a fight to the finish! Who will win? The hard water plaguing your plumbing since the beginning of time, or the perfectly conditioned soft water, thanks to your new Aquarius Water Conditioning water softening system? Only you can decide – but if you’d prefer a bit of help from an expert, just dial 888-741-9025 and we’ll take it from there.

We love our Kinetico whole-home water treatment system.  No residue around our faucets.  No smelly well water.  My wife loves what Kinetico water does for her hair and skin and the Sherck boys LOVE the Kinetico K5 Drinking System (They fill their water bottles before hockey and soccer practices).

Clean, healthy, great-tasing water.  That is Kinetico!”
